PRECISION MANUFACTURING

Forming

Because much of our business has come from customers in the aviation field, we have become experts in all types of forming including hydroforming, magneforming, press brake bending and tube bending.
These processes have allowed us to produce quality parts from wing ribs to airplane seats. We are also one of the few machine shops that have a complete salt bath heat treating system.

Hydroforming

Hydroforming uses fluid pressure in place of the punch in a conventional tool set to form the part into the desired shape of the die.
The technique is very useful for producing whole components that would otherwise be made from multiple stampings joined together.
Usher Precision has a 300 ton hydroforming press with a 18" x 40" bed size. We also have a smaller 150 ton scissors press for assorted pressing operations.
Hydroforming is used primarily for our aviation and aerospace customers.

Magneforming

When an electronic current generates a pulsed magnetic field, a controllable pressure is generated allowing you to join electrically conductive metal parts in microseconds.
Usher Precision owns the only magneforming machine in our region.
A magneforming machine is highly repeatable and leaves no surface contamination or tool marks. For long production runs, magneforming is very cost effective.

Tube Bending

While most machine shops sub-contract their tube bending, Usher Precision has made the investment in machinery that ensures our customers the speed and quality they have come to associate with our products.
Our brand new Ercolina Megabender 030 has the capacity to bend multiple profiles and .25" – 3" diameter tubes.
Easy to use menu driven controls make bend angle programming, diagnostics, and multiple language capacity very simple. Bend angles of 0°F – 180°F enables Usher Precision to provide a wide range of products for our customers.
